Well researched (as always), WordGirl, and well stated.
What I find so fascinating is that beginning with the Watchtower 7/15/13, much of Matthew 24 has been reinterpreted by the Watchtower org to refer to the future coming of Jesus at Armageddon, all except for the appointing of the “faithful and discreet slave” in 1914-1918. Astounding! The mistranslation of the word parousia for 100 years has suddenly been reversed. What could possibly motivate the GB to make such a HUGE change? Answer: Their motivation to claim the identity of the “faithful and discreet slave” status unto themselves, rather than the whole anointed 144,000 “slave class.” So 100 years of ranting and railing against the wicked Babylon of Christendom for their interpretation of “parousia” as a future coming rather than a realized presence, has now been swept under the rug.
So does this mean that they will change the word back to coming instead of presence in future NWT publications? Hmm. Who can keep up with all the new light?
Your “Twist in Translation” notes are so masterful. More please!

Thank you! If they are masterful, it’s only by the help of the Master. If they are imperfect…I take credit for that part 🙂
